It was blue skies and sunshine today at TES! ☀️ We are so thankful that weather has cooperated recently so that students could get outside. Here are some pictures of students enjoying their outdoor recess. 📷

The Scholastic book fair has officially opened! 📚 We want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Chew for all of her hard work getting it ready for our students. 👏🏻 It will be open through Friday, March 1st.

Due to dense fog, particularly in the southernmost areas of the district, the South Henry School Corporation will operate on a two hour delay today, Friday, February 23rd, 2024. We will continue to monitor conditions over the next few hours. Again, the South Henry School Corporation will operate on a two hour delay today, Friday, February 23rd, 2024. Thank you.

Titan Families...
The 2024-2025 South Henry School Corporation Academic Calendar was approved at last night's Board meeting. A team of Titan teachers and administrators worked very hard to put together a great calendar for our students. Here are a few important items of note:
-Spring Break will be one week and one day next year. We are hopeful that this schedule will allow for less learning loss prior to state testing and extend our valuable summer break for our students.
-We have built in two snow make up days, if needed. Feedback received from Titan stakeholders has been that there is value in a traditional "snow day" for students. If we use these make-up days, we will communicate with families well in advance.
-Like this school year, this calendar utilizes "waiver" days from the state based upon the fact that we have far more instructional minutes than are necessary in both buildings. These waiver days are still pending approval from the Indiana State Board of Education. If not approved, this will change the calendar slightly and we will communicate appropriately.
Great things are happening at South Henry!
Go Titans!

On this Valentine's Day, kindness is spreading! It is national kindness week, and at TES, we are continuing to show this in many different ways. 💗
Mrs. Williams 5th grade class used their writing skills to write kindness notes to each other, and also wrote a letter to their future selves. Way to go, 5th grade! ✍️ 👏🏻

It's national kindness week!
At Tri Elementary, our hallways are filling with more and more kindness crafts to celebrate national kindness week. Every single student at Tri is writing down what they love about TES on a piece of paper, which will be turned into a kindness chain that will be hung up on kindness corner! 💗
A picture is included of day 1 of our kindness chain. Stay tuned for more updates as National Kindness week continues!

Due to an accident on westbound I70 this morning, a large number of vehicles have diverted onto our district roads. This added traffic may cause bussing delays and will most likely make your morning commute longer than usual. Please use extreme caution and patience when traveling to school this morning. Thank you!

South Henry Family,
With last week's blast of winter weather and the threat of ice this evening, it's a great time to review our process for making decisions for school delays and cancellations. Please know, it is always our goal to have "in-person" classes. We understand the hardship on families when schedules change and we also believe that the classroom is one of the best places for a child to learn. With that said, the safety of our people is always our first priority. These decisions are not taken lightly and involve many moving parts including quickly changing conditions and forecasts, building conditions such as heat and electricity, ability for buses to start, air temperature and wind chill, estimated times of snow removal from roads, lots, and sidewalks, and more. Weighing all factors involved, these tough decisions are made using the process spelled out in this infographic. We appreciate your grace and understanding as we strive to protect our Titan students, staff, and family.
THANK YOU!

Good morning, TES families!
Today, Friday, January 19th, 2024, will be a synchronous virtual learning day due to inclement weather. Here is a framework for our virtual learning day. You may expect your child's teacher to communicate more specific details including assignments and links. Please refer to the South Henry Guardian Guide shared via Bloomz for specific expectations regarding attendance and work completion per Indiana guidelines.
If you have any questions, please first contact your child's teacher. You may also contact Mrs. Hamm (ehamm@shenry.k12.in.us) or Mrs. Stevens (astevens@shenry.k12.in.us) if you need additional technical support or guidance.
If your child with an IEP needs additional assistance, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Worl (sworl@shenry.k12.in.us) or Mrs. Hays (hhays@shenry.k12.in.us).
We thank you for your flexibility and teamwork as we strive to provide a meaningful day of learning for our students!
